机电一体化 and Robotics Engineering

B.S.E. in 机电一体化 and Robotics Engineering provides educational experiences aimed toward producing graduates who will:

  • Become successful practitioners in an engineering or related career.
  • Pursue graduate study and/or continuing education opportunities in 电气工程, 计算机工程, or other related disciplines.
  • Demonstrate leadership and excel in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
  • Function as responsible members of society with an awareness of the ethical and social ramifications of their work.

机电一体化 is a synergy of mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, 计算机工程, and 控制 engineering. It is centered on mechanics, 电子产品, 控制, 软件计算, 嵌入式处理, 通信, 电磁, 微机电, and micro- and nano-technologies. This synergy generates simpler, more economical, reliable and versatile systems. Mechatronic systems are found in:

  • transportation systems (autonomous vehicles, electric and hybrid vehicle drives, traffic information and 控制),
  • manufacturing (robot manipulators, collaborative robots, machine tools, assembly lines),
  • healthcare (social, rehabilitation, surgical, and medicine delivery robots),
  • consumer products (robotic vacuum cleaners, entertainment, home, office, stores),
  • security systems (police robots, nonlethal devices),
  • defense systems (machines and vehicles),
  • exploratory systems (unmanned vehicles and sensors),
  • aerospace (space rovers and manipulators).

Robots are physically embodied systems capable of interacting with the physical and social environments around them to semi-autonomously or autonomously accomplish various tasks, often in place of or in support of a human. 机器人技术工程学 注重设计, 发展, evaluation and integration of robots so they can sense, plan and act to complete these tasks. It brings together a number of fields, including mechanical engineering, 电气工程, 计算机工程, artificial intelligence and psychology.
